We have determined that the assailants were dolls produced using the subject's flesh, apparently slowly becoming able to harness the third miracle's shape-shifting properties when a specific signal is released from the subject.
The swarm of them infiltrated the maintenance tunnels, incapacitating those not designated as targets non-lethally using a primitive toxin they'd adapted to inject via biting.
